Tree World Treaty – For Planet Earth

Are you aware of the fact that the carbon foot print calculated for the Copenhagen Summit is equal to 46200 tonnes of carbon dioxide?

Are you aware of the fact that the amount of carbon dioxide, oficially assumed to be reduced, is close to nothing?

We have become aware of these facts. And now we have informed you too.

But above all we know for certain that “I can’t” has never had a positive outcome. In change, “I will try!” has sometimes worked miracles!

Having said these we propose you to try and set an example and put into practice a plan that will save the Blue Planet in due time. We give you Tree World Treaty or A Good Practice Guide for the Environment. The working mechanism behind Tree World Treaty is quite a plain, simple one: we bring together all the environment organizations, as well as other institutions interested in adhering to the Treaty and we establish a total number of trees to be planted annualy, worldwide, during a 5 year period.

We start with 100 million trees for 2010

In 2011 we set a higher goal and reach 150 million trees

For 2012 the plans are even bigger as we reach 200 million planted trees

In 2013 we will take up the challenge of planting 250 million trees

And in 2014 we will reach the magical number of 300 million planted trees

If we were to think at the efforts that each environment organization, from every corner of the world, is making every day in order to pursue their goals, the above presented figures are  within our reach.

We strongly feel that, by joining our efforts, we can set an example that will exceed any formal agreement. We can make it happen. Little by little we will succeed in reducing the carbon footprint.

This is the wish that we are making in this very special time of the year, when one should believe in miracles. We’ll call it our TreesMas Wish.
